Important Dates
- Registration open: November 1, 2005
- On-line abstract submission deadline: May 31, 2006
- Acceptance notification: July 15, 2006
- Payment of early conference fee $200: before or on August 31, 2006
- Payment of full conference fee $300: after August 31, 2006
- Submitting registration forms and final abstracts: October 27, 2006. Notice: you can register later, even at the beginning of the conference, but in that case we may be unable to assist you with services which have to be planned in advance, such as hotel reservation, special catering needs, etc. If you register too late, we may not be able to include your presentation into the conference program and your abstract into the Book of Abstracts.
- Final paper submission: to be announced later
Registration Fee
- Full registration fee: $300. Applies when payment is received after August 31, 2006, but before December 4, 2006. After December 4, the fee must be paid on-site at the registration desk.
- Early registration fee: $200. Applies when payment is received before August 31, 2006.
- Student rate: $0. This rate applies to undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students who present either a poster or an oral contribution. Valid student ID must be presented at registration.
Financial Support for Students
Limited number of NSF travel grants is available for students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. In order to qualify for financial support, students must be presenting either a poster or an oral contribution. Candidates are asked to send their GPA, short resume (which may include list of publications, awards, or other achievements), and the amount requested, to the e-mail address femtec(at)math(dot)utep(dot)edu. The receipt for the fare presented at registration should not exceed the previous estimate.

- Lunch Monday - Friday
- Morning and afternoon coffee breaks
- Welcome party
- Concert (Baroque, Spanish, and Latin American guitar)
- Tour of White Sands Missile Range. Includes wine tasting at a local winery La Vina in La Union, New Mexico. This trip is not included in the student registration fee.
Wire Transfer Instructions
As an alternative to check or credit card payment, the conference fee can be paid using wire transfer. Instructions can be found here. IMPORTANT: these instructions must be followed exactly in order to avoid loss or misapplication of payment.
